In Eagle Lake we used to have a resturant called Old Mill Marina, a mill that was transferred into a restuarant.

Directions: Grab the Maine Atlas and Gazeetteer and follow the clues to learn a bit of geography and history about the lake in our community!
1. Our lake is in Aroostook County, Maine.
2. Five other lakes empty into our lake either directly, or through other lakes.
3. All the lakes are connected by Fish River.
4. Our lake is named after our national bird because the first settlers noticed a lot of these birds living around the lake.
5. Good job, now that you've found our lake, get on the lake and go due East from the town of Eagle Lake.
6. As you are boating or walking or riding your vehicle, (yes, we sometimes walk on water in Northern Maine), go past the inlet form the lake named after a four-sided plygon that has all 90 degree angles and all sides congruent.
7. Near this inlet is Michaud Camps established in the year 1874. Stop in and take a tour!
8. Our spot is getting closer. You can pitch a tent when you get here. Keep heading East.
9. If you get to the end of the lake, you've gone too far...
10. Your quest should end on the north shore on a big rock.
11. Be careful- it's nickname is Mad Rock! Dont dive off!! Its not that deep!!
12. Find the gold marker on top of the ledge.
13. Your quest has ended once you find the number on the Geological Gold Marker! |
