I was founded in 1938 as one of the five original state parks in Maine.
I am situated on the shoreline of the deepest and second largest lake in Maine, Sebago Lake, and near the foothills of the White Mountains.

We are working with model dams to see how dams work and how they affect the environment around lakes and rivers. We made both man-made and beaver dams.
Before repairing or removing dams, you should check with townspeople and check to see what the damage is to the dam.
Dams can be good because they can make electricity. This electricity is clean (no air pollution).
Dams can be bad because they may make people need to move if they overflow or if water rises above the dam. Dams can be bad for migratory fish.
It can be tough to manage lake levels because you don't know what will happen with the weather. It may snow and rain a lot or it may not. Rain and snow melt end up in the lakes and rivers.
